SEEKING GOD WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART
TEXT: PSALM 119:1-10
KEY VERSE: “With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments” (Psalm 119:10).
The heart is the centre of a man’s desires. No man can show interest in something without the consent of the heart. Seeking God demands that we surrender our hearts unto Him.
There was a king in the Bible who was said to serve God but not with a perfect heart. He could not give God his undivided attention. Of course, his service was not acceptable to God.
To seek God with your whole heart, you must first repent of your sins and surrender your heart to Jesus. He will come in and abide with you.
Then you will do away with anything that can take away your attention from the word of God. Things like worldly games and pleasure, fashion, wrong association and others, must be avoided and taken out of the way.
God pours His blessings on sincere seekers. When you maintain a close relationship with God, you will not lack good things. God will always be there for you. Your heart should be first given to God and He will keep you always when you do.
PRAYER: God, I give You my heart. Take control of it.
