READ DEUTERONOMY 5:1 THROUGH 8:20
Where does a person begin to navigate life-changing moments? The options can be staggering. Location, vocation, family, and timing can all be challenging. Fortunately, God has provided a starting point:
The Lord commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today (Deuteronomy 6:24).
Israel gathered to listen to Moses’ parting words. Life for them was about to change. Moses would die, and they would settle in the Promised Land. The Israelites’ wandering was over, and the time of possessing a homeland was beginning. They had once been fed manna in the desert; now they would plant and harvest crops for food. The cloud would not lead them any longer, but the instructions of God would guide them. God intended them to live and prosper, and He provided the key. The same is true today. A full and spiritually prosperous life can be found in following God’s commands. God has given everything needed for His people to possess the eternal Promised Land. As God’s directions are deliberately followed, He will bring success.
Thought for Today: Good comes from obeying God.
