Grace to Keep Yourself in God’s Love

Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

Daniel 3:16-18 … O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O King, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

It is much easier to declare that God love you when things are good and rosy in your life. But do you still feel like God’s beloved child when you are going through challenges and storms? God will never ever change His great love for you and He wants you to come to that place where your physical condition or the attitude of people towards you does not change your confidence and assurance of His great and unconditional love for you. Do not even let your weaknesses change your consciousness of God’s love for you. Let the work that Christ did for you on the Cross of Calvary be the sign of God’s love for you that you continually hold on to. It is while we were yet sinners that Christ died for us. How much more will we be saved by His life now that we are His children, Rom. 5:8-10? Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not allow their commitment to God to be dependent on what God does for them or not. On the Cross, Jesus said, My God My God why has thou forsaken me?” (Matt. 27:46) but He still said, “Father into thy hands I commend my spirit”, Luke 23:46.

No matter what you are going through, keep telling yourself that you are greatly, loved and favoured by God. Though Jesus is God’s Beloved Son, He went through very challenging times too, Heb. 5:8. Remain in close fellowship with God. Allow the Holy Spirit to keep spreading God’s love in your heart, Rom. 5:5. Don’t run away from God when you need Him the most. His arms are always opened to you. His ears are always opened to you. Come boldly to His throne of grace to obtain His mercy and find His grace to help in your time of need, Heb. 4:16. Jesus said He that comes to me I will in no wise cast out, John 6:37.

Father, I receive your grace to remain rooted and grounded in your love. No matter what I face, may my consciousness of your love never change.

Bible in one year reading plan: Numbers 9-11, Mark 5:1-20.
