Don’t Stand Still; Move Forward

Exodus 14:13-16 (LB) But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand where you are and watch, and you will see the wonderful way the Lord will rescue you today. The Egyptians you are looking at – you will never see them again. The Lord will fight for you, and you won’t need to lift a finger!” Then the Lord said to Moses, “Quit praying and get the people moving! Forward, march! Use your rod – hold it out over the water, and the sea will open up a path before you, and all the people of Israel shall walk through on dry ground!

There will be times when we will find ourselves in the kind of situation that Moses found himself in our text above. He was under so much pressure from the Israelites, with a great sea in front of him and a raging Egyptian army coming at them. He had never been in such a situation before. He needed God’s intervention and He was confident that God would intervene but what He did not know was that God was going to intervene through him. God had given him what he needed to solve that problem and take the Israelites to their next level of freedom. There are times that we are trusting and waiting on God to do something that He has already empowered us to do or take care of. He has put us in charge of what happens here. What will Jesus do in that situation?  That is exactly what you have been empowered to do now.

We don’t wait on God by staying in one place and doing nothing. We wait on God by listening to Him and getting direction and taking orders from Him just like a waiter does in a restaurant. When you are waiting on from Him just like a waiter does in a restaurant. When you are waiting on God you will be renewing your strength, mounting up with wings as eagles, you will be running and walking without being weary or faint, Isa. 40:31. Do not be so weighed down by what you are going through that you cannot listen to God and get direction from Him. God will give you His wisdom and He will order your steps. You must pray in faith always but you must take action as God leads you. At the wedding in Cana, Mary told the servants to do whatever Jesus told them to do and as they obeyed, there was a great testimony of newness and sweetness, John 2:5-10. You too are going to have a great testimony today.

Heavenly Father, I receive your strength, wisdom and direction to move forward and make progress in your will and purpose for my life today.
