You are Holy and Sanctified
1 Corinthians 1:2 (KJV) Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours.
1 Corinthians 1:2 (NLT) I am writing to God’s church in Corinth, to you who have been called by God to be his own holy people. He made you holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.
Hebrews 10:10 … we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ …
As a believer, you are not trying to be holy. You are holy. God has made you holy and has sanctified you. To sanctify is to separate or set something apart and make it sacred or special. It is your consciousness that you are holy and sanctified that makes you to live a holy and sanctified life. God made you holy by the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. Hebrews 10:14 says, “For my one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified”. 1 Peter 2 (GNB) says, “You were chosen according to the purpose of God the Father and were made a holy people by his Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be purified by his blood. …” 1 Peter 2:9 (GNB) says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; …” Jude said we are sanctified by God the Father and preserved in Jesus Christ, Jude 1:1.
If God says you are holy because of Christ and you tell yourself you are not holy because of your works, you are not being humble, you are being carnal. You are not waling in the Spirit; you are walking in the flesh and by your senses and you will never be who God says you are. God calls you a saint. When you accept that you are holy sanctified in Christ, you will love righteousness and hate iniquity, Heb. 1:9. You will begin to possess your vessel in sanctification and honour, 1 Thes. 4:4. You will continue yielding to the leading of the Holy Spirit and walking in the light and the blood of Jesus will cleanse you from all sin, 1 John 1:7. You will stand out from the world and you will live differently. By the Spirit you will starve and put to death the evil deeds of the body, Rom. 8:13. The more you purge yourself from iniquity, God will keep using you for His highest purposes, 2 Tim. 2:20-22. God will keep you from falling, Jude 1:24.
I am holy and sanctified. I am set apart from sin and all evil. I am separated unto God. I yield myself to God’s Spirit. I manifest holiness.
