UNSTOPPABLE: Son of the King Daily Devotionals for Wednesday 5th, February 2020 – WHILE OTHERS ARE SLEEPING, BE AWAKE.

FEBRUARY 5, 2020

“But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed” Romans 13:11, MSG.

I woke up recently in the middle of the night and I was wide awake. God spoke to me and said, This is how I want you to be. I asked Him what do You mean. He said while others are sleeping, I want you to be awake. I want you to be awake to the calling I have on your life. I want you to be awake to the labor you need to do with your time that I give you. I want you to be awake like the ant, who prepares in the summer to be ready when the winter comes. I want you to be awake to the times you are in. I want you to be awake to how I desire to bless you.”

There are those that are sleeping around you, but don’t be deceived. Be wide awake. When others aren’t studying and praying, you are. When other men keep to themselves, you are calling other men and seeing how they are doing–praying with them, encouraging them. While others just visit their family, you are wide awake to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with them while they are still here. While some men aren’t going to church, you are going and getting involved. When others are just working a job, you are working your plan. While others are spending, you are saving. When others aren’t taking care of their bodies, you’re in the gym.

Be awake to the Father and to His business. That is how He wants you to live.

Prayer: Father, You are good and I thank You today. Help me to live according to how You want me to live. While others are sleeping, I want to be wide awake. I pray we all are awake to Jesus. I ask that Your grace be multiplied in my life and I thank You for a blessed life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
