READ LEVITICUS 11–13
Eddie spotted a familiar face at his family reunion. His cousin Trent had accompanied Eddie on many adventures during their teen years, but their work in military service separated them shortly after graduation. Now thirty years later, Eddie approached him and couldn’t help thinking that Trent hadn’t aged at all.
After Eddie began small talk, however, “Trent” broke in with a laugh, explaining, “I’m Todd. Trent is my dad. You must be Eddie.”
“I am the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy” (Leviticus 11:45).
God rescued His people from Egyptian bondage and deserved their full commitment. He worked an even greater rescue by delivering you from sin through Jesus Christ. God wants His children to bear a striking resemblance to Him. This resemblance consists of words, actions, and attitudes that reflect God’s holy character. Those around you will see the family resemblance you bear to your Father and may even ask you about it. Be ready to share the reason for your commitment to Him.
Challenge for Today: Can the world see your resemblance to your heavenly Father?
