TOPIC: THE LORD HAS PURPOSED
TEXT: ISAIAH 14:24-27
Key Verse: “For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?” (Isaiah 14:27)
A purpose is a resolve or determination to do something. It is the reason for which something is done, or for which something exists. The Great God, the the Creator of heaven and earth, is a purposeful God. He has determined and resolved what He will do, permit or forebear.
There are people, children and adults alike, who act as if their purposes supercedes that of God. They speak, act and behave as if there is no God. Some Presidents and Kings of nations boast and conduct themselves as if they are in control of the affairs of the world. But God has the final say; He rules in the affairs of men.
The thoughts and the impressions of an ordinary man does not and cannot affect the purpose of God. It is God’s counsel and purpose that will prevail. The thoughts or words of one man can be reversed or cancelled by the command of one greater or more powerful than him, but who can alter or cancel the purpose of God? Do not be bothered by the mockery or negative things that people say about you, or what people say you cannot do or achieve. God has a purpose for your life. Only His will shall be done and no one has the power to stop it. Therefore, have faith in God.
Prayer: Lord, let Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
