Your Portion is Always Preserved

Psalm 16:5-7 (NKJV) O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance. I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.

Psalms 16:5-7 (LB) The Lord himself is my inheritance, … my highest joy! He guards all that is mine. He sees that I am given pleasant brooks and meadows as my share! What a wonderful inheritance! I will bless the Lord who counsels me; he gives me wisdom in the night. He tells me what to do.

One of the things that will help you to keep trusting in God and receiving direction form Him is your consciousness that no matter what happens or does not happen to you, your portion in God an inheritance in every area of your life is always secure. David wrote the verses in our text above because he came to the understanding that even though it may sometimes appear that what belongs to us or what we deserve is eluding us and it may even appear like we will never attain that thing, God Himself will ensure that we do not lose what He has allocated to us. It does not matter the seeming disappointment or delay that you are experiencing. God is in charge of your inheritance and the land or blessings that He has allocated to you. He will preserve it for you. He will make sure that you receive it. Even when people feel like they are cheating you, God in His wisdom will cause their schemes to work out for your good.

After all that Joseph went through at the hands of his brothers, it appeared that his dreams would not come true. However, God caused his dreams to turn out even better than he imagined. Even when Joseph was a slave in Potiphar’s house and a prisoner in Egypt, he continued to prosper because his portion was preserved in God and by God. Ephesians 6:8 (GNB) says, “Remember that the Lord will reward each of us, whether slave or free, for the good work we do.” No matter your status or situation, your blessing and reward from God are guaranteed. When the storm at sea was violently raging, the disciples of Jesus must have felt that it was over for them, but Jesus calmed the storm and they got to the other side as Jesus had said. Their lives were preserved, Mark 4:35-41. You will experience God’s supernatural power, favour and preservation.

Faith Declaration:

My portion is divinely preserved in every area of my life. I have a goodly inheritance and nothing can top me from experiencing it.
